Teachers are the heart of the program at Parnassus Preparatory Academy. Without dedicated, competent teachers, the best educational practices will never come to fruition in the classroom. We seek teachers who are dedicated to the craft of teaching, know and love the subjects they teach, who understand and love children, and who are prepared to model the intellectual and moral virtue we seek to cultivate in our students.
Classroom teachers need not have a teaching credential although knowledge in their subjects is desired. Preference will be given to candidates with an advanced academic degree. A classical education background is helpful but not required.
All teachers at Parnassus Preparatory Academy are responsible for the intellectual and moral atmosphere of the program. As such, candidates should:
§ be well-organized
§ be able to communicate professionally with families
§ exhibit intellectual curiosity
§ use precise, edifying, and moderate speech
§ contribute to a collegial faculty across the program
